Exemption Exams for YDİ-101 (Foreign Language English I) and YDİ-102 (Foreign Language English II) Courses
For students newly admitted to our University (excluding students enrolled in the English Language Teaching and English Translation and Interpreting Programs), the exemption examinations for YDİ-101 (Foreign Language English I) and YDİ-102 (Foreign Language English II) for the 2026–2027 Academic Year will be held face-to-face on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
Students who will take these courses for the first time, as well as students who have previously taken but failed these courses, are eligible to take the examinations. Students who are retaking the courses for grade improvement are not eligible to take the exemption examinations. Even if such students take the examinations, their examination results will be deemed INVALID.
- The exemption examination for YDİ 101 Foreign Language English I and YDİ 102 Foreign Language English II consists of two sections, each containing 20 multiple-choice questions, for a total of 40 questions. Questions 1–20 cover Foreign Language English I (YDİ 101), which is offered in the Fall Semester, while Questions 21–40 cover Foreign Language English II (YDİ 102), which is offered in the Spring Semester. The duration of the examination is 50 minutes. Each section will be assessed separately and independently of the other.
- Each student will take the examination in the building of their respective academic unit. The classrooms in which the examinations will be held will be determined by the relevant units and announced on their respective websites. Please follow the website of your academic unit for information regarding the examination classrooms.
- Participation in the exemption examinations is optional and is not compulsory. Students who wish to be exempted from these courses may take the examinations. Students wishing to participate in the examinations are required to apply to their respective academic units.
- Following the completion and evaluation of the examinations, the list of students who are deemed “exempt” will be forwarded to the relevant academic units.
